Public Meeting - Wed, 16th Feb 2011 at Carlisle Firestation Community Room. 8pm start.
Recent events in Egypt have energised millions arounf the world. One of the world's most stable and repressive regimes has been rocked by people power. This is a victory for anyone who believes in social justice, and sends a positive message of hope.
However, events are still unfolding, and many are worried about what will come next, and what this means for those in other countries who are campaigning for a better world.
- Do the struggles for liberation against repressive regimes have a link to campaigns locally in the West?
- Is there anything we can learn from Egypt about the campaigns against our own national government?
- What does this mean for the Green movement?
We would like to invite people to join us to discuss these and other questions raised by recent events.
The discussion starts at 8pm and will be held at Carlisle Firestation Community Rooms, Warwick Street, Carlisle, CA3 8QW.
