Carlisle Green Party member Hazel Graham offers an account of her time spent with fellow protesters at Occupy London.

“Welcome to the bank of ideas, come in, the meeting is about to start”. The smartly dressed young man showed me to a seat inside the recently occupied UBS building in London.

Since 15 October a group of protesters have been holding an occupation in the City of London. This is part of a global movement that is protesting about the way in which the financial system has been acting in the interests of the top 1% of the population.

This week members of the Carlisle Green Party travelled to London to spend time with the protestors and see the occupation at first hand.
